Remember Mean Girls? Well, Mean Girls 2 sure wants you to. In fact, the first 20 seconds of the minute-and-a-half trailer for the sequel highlights clips from the first film — which, sadly for the new Plastics, only serves to remind us how tough it is to top Rachel McAdams & Co.
In the sequel, which goes direct-to-video Feb. 11, two high schoolers (played by Meaghan Jette Martin and Jennifer Stone) attempt to take down their school’s perkily evil mean girls, who, as in the first film, are nicknamed the Plastics. Only one problem: I thought Tina Fey’s Ms. Norbury successfully disbanded the group — and therefore, any future iterations of it — in the first film. [Dear lovely readers, you were right! I forgot about the mini-Plastics. I guess I'm just having one of those Karen Smith days.] Aw man. This is like when I felt completely satisfied with the ending of The Mummy, thinking Rick and Evy lived happily ever after once they sent Imhotep back to the world of the dead, only to find out he would return in the sequel, along with a giant man-spider. You’re killing my cinematic optimism, Hollywood!

No Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, pre-druggie Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, Amy Poehler, and once again, writing and acting talents of Tina Fey… this thing is a for sure failure. Why can’t they just let Mean Girls be a one movie hit? Why must they drag it into a string of crappy, crappy sequels that will NEVER be as good as the original? Ugh, Hollywood… so many better movies you could be making, but you waste time and money on this crap.

Mean girls 2 is a DISGRACE! They don’t deserve that title, it’s insulting to the original epicness! You can already tell the plot sucks. The actors suck and let’s face it, are no where near as hot as the REAL plastics. The cast is made up of a bunch of Disney fails. Ugh!!! this makes me so mad! I will take a sh!t on this. >:(
funny while your complaining about how crappy the movie is, their still getting paid for it and probably making more than you.ok so the movie wont have the original cast that doesnt make it any better or worst. and for those saying these actresses are just failed disney stars wise up because jenifer stone still have a very successful tv show on. and quiet frankly if you think its going to be so bad why waste your time to comment! i feel like those of you leaving these long hateful messages about will be the first ones to buy . youll all need to grow up and show some respect! so it may not be your taste say that instead of putting other people down!!!!

The movie was bad. The original Mean Girls was amazingly hilarious and I still hear it quoted at least once a month. MICHAEL and PEYTON’s comments are a good reflection of the general public’s views. Sanon, who cares if they’re getting paid? It’s not like anyone’s saying that as actresses they shouldn’t accept paying roles! But the movie was less than good, and an embarassment to the Mean Girls legacy. Hopefully, the girls will be able to get better roles in the future. And Claudia you just sound…immature? What are you like 11? Spell people’s names right. I bet you actually liked this movie.
I think that someone should write Tim Meadows and Eugene Levy a nice, funny buddy comedy and lure them out of the direct-to-video rehashes of their past successes. It could be fun….

Someone…Please. Write a good screenplay so that we can stop doing this to hilarious movies that don’t deserve a number at the end of their name and a cast full of girls who think that they can act because they do the snobby thing well.
Hint: If you got casted into a sequel…Don’t prepare your Oscar speech any time soon. Instead, look for hiring postitions at the nearest strip club.

. . . in the original Mean Girls the Plastics group comprised of Rachel McAdams, etc. was disbanded, but in the end of the movie the (now) junior plastics are shown at the beginning of the next school year. As seniors, Cady (Lindsay Lohan) is shown with Janice and Damien, Karen is some sort of amateur weather girl, and Lacey Chabert (can’t remember her character’s name) is with the cool Asian girls at lunch. Everything was fixed with their class, but not the younger class.
Yeah, they even showed the mini Plastics crossing the street. And Lindsay said something like “As for the future generation of plastics…” and then a bus almost hits them.

Actually I think what that was supposed to show was that Mean Girls will always be there, no matter how hard they try to get rid of them LOL. I dont think it was supposed to have a sequel, I think it was just supposed to be a ‘uh oh!’ kinda ending.
This looks terrible. Why does Hollywood always have to ruin good movies with terrible direct to DVD sequels? This reeks of all those terrible Bring it On sequels. Mean Girls was such a good movie with an original script and actual good acting. This sad retread can’t even begin to compare.
How is it that a bad sequel ruins an original? They both stand on their own merits. (Godfather 3 takes nothing from 1 and 2.)
It looks cute! Ms. Norbury only fixed it for that generation. If she wasn’t there for this one, all bets are off. It’s still high school after all.

It’s all Disney girls! what the heck, this won’t work at all. This looks like a prude version of Mean Girls- the inappropriate but clever jokes in Mean Girls 1 is what made the movie so awesome.

They ruined Bring it On’s reputation with all the sequels, they ruined American Pie with all the sequels, they’re making a sequel to the Hangover, and now a sequel to THIS movie, which happens to be my favorite movie? The person who wrote this, btw, wrote a series of Barbie movies. I hope the person who wrote this/produced this goes broke and loses all there money for producing this garbage.
