'Black Swan' international trailer: More clues, more Winona

Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan opens in only eight cities today, so the rest of the country will have to settle for the new international trailer, which features a little more heavy breathing than the previous clip and an extra dose of Winona Ryder. Critics are already praising Natalie Portman for her portrayal of a fragile ballerina, and the new trailer depicts her journey in a more straightforward manner that also explains her relationships with several mysterious characters. It’s a miniature of the film, minus a few important reveals, of course. Take a gander:

Will Black Swan be part of your weekend? How far are you willing to drive to see it?

Can’t WAIT for this film to show near me! Love the trailers they’ve released for it so far, it looks very Rosemary’s Baby esque.

    • LOL

I thought this was getting a wider release at first and I’m highly depressed that it’s not. “Black Swan” come to NC soon, please.

    • alI

it will be in NC on December 22.

      • krikky

Oooo…how do you know that? Is there a schedule somewhere?

  • HD

    More Winona=less interest.

    • ashley

no worries, she’s only in the film for like 15 minutes (if that much.)

I think Michelle Pfeiffer would have been good for that role, but she’s probably older than what they were looking for.

      • Ash

Michelle Pfeiffer is much, much too old. Winona in the film is an aging ballerina, someone Michelle’s age would have already retired from ballet 12 years ago. I personally like the choice of Winona.

Wynona is PERFECT for her role. She’s the real-life embodiment of the character she plays. The former “it” girl who is pushed aside simply because she is aging and not for lack of talent…that’s Wynona Ryder. Arfonsky did the same thing when he casted Mickey Rourke in the Wrestler. We know the actor’s real-life history and how the role echoes it. It is perfect casting IMO.

Saw it last night, it was amazing!!! I cannot stress how great it was. But word of advice: don’t sit too close to the screen, the camera moves around a lot a la blair witch.

The anticipation is going to kill me to see this film! I am currently getting my fill from all of the reviews out there, and I can just tell that I am going to love this film. I have loved Aronofsky’s style since he came out on the scene with Pi, and he seems to be able to do no wrong!

I, unfortunately, live in Podunk, NC. I was willing to drive, but I’d have to cross state lines to do so apparently. I have been DYING to see this movie. Anyone know when its wide release is?

    • DTO

Hey, I live in Podunk, NC too! I was hoping it would make it here so that I could hop on my hog and ride to the theatre. And unfortunately, hog is not slang for a motorcycle in this case. Bessie won a prize at the State Fair. Sewweee!
I guess I’m not doing my state’s image any favors with these jokes, but I do wish the movie had made it here.
