'Vanishing on 7th Street' trailer: The shadow knows!

There’s a new trailer out for Vanishing on 7th Street, and like its predecessor, it is very spooky-looking! I particularly like/am terrified by the part where the shadow looks like a gigantic spider, speeding towards its frightened victim:

Do parts of this remind me of the evil shadow demons in Ghost? Perhaps. But I’m taking that as a good sign.

Between this and The Walking Dead, we’re really grooving on the “ragtag group of survivors battles baffling outdoor danger” genre, which is a-okay by me. What about you?

At 1:27 you can see the word “Croatoan” written on the wall. So this movie is basically about a modern, worldwide retelling of Roanoke Island?

Personally, it’s going to be hard to see this movie and not compare it to the brilliant Croatoan virus storyline in Supernatural.

Supernatural is exactly what I thought

This reminds me of the Doctor Who episode with the shadow monsters haunting the library.

I actually did think of the shadow/demon type things from “Ghost.” Of course, that led to me wonder if the characters in this trailer are really just dead, and everything they are experiencing is a result of some kind supernatural hell. Just seems like the kind of twist a movie like this might pull, Shyamalan-lite.

It’s a bit Ghost, a bit Doctor Who, and a bit Pitch Black.
