Muppet fans, your wait for the highly anticipated new movie featuring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and rest of the gang just got a little shorter. Disney has announced that its upcoming Muppet movie will be released next Thanksgiving weekend, not on Christmas as originally planned. The film — originally titled The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made and now tentatively called simply The Muppets — will hit theaters on Nov. 23, 2011. The Muppets, which stars Jason Segel (who also co-wrote the script), Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones alongside the classic lineup of Muppet characters, is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

It better include a racy, off-kilter quip from Janice!
I sure hope Frank Oz will be doing Miss Piggy’s voice.
Wait…Chris Cooper?! (Wha?! And awesome!)
Why not a week earlier? This would be a big hit over Thanksgiving weekend…at least for me and my family.
it is being released on thanksgiving weekend. I can’t wait!
Sweet! Just marked my calendar. Can’t wait!!!
Great news! I bet I can get my parents to go with me over Thanksgiving weekend. They love the Muppets just as much as I do. Hoping for a movie in the older Muppet style. Not the kiddie version of the Muppets that Disney has been producing lately.

I think you meant to say 2012 as the date that you put up has already passed.
haha…sure about that?
really? im pretty sure november 2011 has yet to happen.
Nice!
WHY OH WHY — christmas will get more business, the weekend after thanksgiving is the worst weekend, at least open the weekend before thanksgiving.
Hmmm… I think that would be a great opportunity for parents to drop their kids off at the movies to do their Christmas shopping… after all it’s Black Friday/Thanksgiving weekend. Some families have a tradition where the women go shopping and the men or the older kids take the younger kids to the movies. We did it growing up and I’ve taken my nephews and nieces to the movies so I wouldn’t have to go Black Friday shopping. I’d rather go to a movie than be out in all that shopping hell.
“well I’m a princess and he was a pirate….”
Can’t wait.
