I’m behind this 100%, and it really looks like they are going for an amalgamation of some of the current origin books with having a younger version of the Kent’s. Maybe the whiners would prefer Betty White as Martha?
Be honest. It looks like a reboot of Smallville. The actors don’t look anything like the comic books, unless you speak of the Smallville inspired ones. People have a right to freak out over this.

Setting money aside into an cgremeney fund may seem very non-productive at the time, but WHAM! as soon as that cgremeney hits (and it will), it sure is nice to have the funds waiting there.This was the case recently for me and my wife. A routine trip to the dentist with one of our children went from $150 for cleaning and x-rays to $800 for some extra work’ pretty quick. Instead of grabbing for credit cards to absorb the impact, my wife was able to calmly swipe our debit card and press the savings’ button on the terminal to make the payment in full. Instead of getting terribly upset at the unfortunate situation, we were able to thank the Lord that we had the money ready.Great thoughts in your article Jon. If they get Viggo to play Zod this movie will be amazing…he would be such a catch for that role. I can just picture a dark whisper of a voice intone “Neal before Zod” All unshaven….he would be a great Zod
If Viggo takes the role of Zod, then Daniel Day-Lewis should definitely be offered the role of Supes’ dad, Jor-El. i’ve always wanted to see these two (arguably the BEST actors of their generation..the pacino/de niro for our generation) to act mano a mano up on the big screen.
they both got the same type of classic heroic profile/physique as well…perfect for the roles of the archenemies.

Come on, Do you all think that she really looks 25, she knows shes not, and she dosn’t care. She loves that she got a part like this in a movie that is gonna get huge hype,. Her star is fizzing out a little from her oscar nod for “Unfaithful”, and this is just what she needs. Its a part that wont take up to much of her time onset. So she will most likley be doing other movies for the next few years, and this is a perfect way to premote the other films when the press will be trying to get her to talk about Superman, I.E,, talkshows and press junkets. This is how they get pitched to take certain parts, from the publishers and managers. Trust me, it’s a career investment when it comes to the A-listers. They look at part 2 and 3, and hope it will be Huge. After Batman and Pirates. They see how those go and everybody wants a peace of something like that. Think about it.

Now I feel old. Diane Lane is old enough to play Martha Kent? Cherry from “The Outsiders”? Might as well cast Matt Dillon as Jonathan Kent while they are at it.
Kevin Costner is Jonathan Kent, hopefully Vigo M. Will accept the role of Zod.. And yeah, I vote for Amy Adams to play Lois Lane
Lois Lane is a brunette, not a red head, Adams would look stupid with dark hair. The only thing worse then kryptonite are Gingers.
