A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox confirms a report from Badass Digest that the studio is currently negotiating to lure Reznor aboard, not only to supply the film’s music, but to play Jack Barts, the vampire who kills Lincoln’s mother and sets the hero on his path of righteous vengeance.

Cool! I have the book on my shelf (haven’t read it yet). I’m interested to see if Reznor can act. At least the film will have a kick ass soundtrack!
It’s a great book – loved it. Really excited about the movie – hope it compares.
Wish he didn’t wait so long. Looks like a great role!
I will never stop being delighted to hear him called Academy Award winning Trent Reznor. Love, love, love it!!!
After Year Zero and Ghosts I thought I was the only one who noticed what an incredible genius this guy has become. I am thrilled that it appears other people have noticed too. The Lights in the Sky tour was like nothing I had ever seen before.

Nine Inch Nails is one of the best live acts I’ve seen. Kind of strange but also awesome that he’s becoming more famous for his post-NIN career.
You might be a late bloomer….everyone else knew how awesome TR is.
I don’t really know anything about the source material, but so far the cast is shaping up to be very cool indeed. And with Reznor supplying the music to this (in addition to crafting the music to Fincher’s “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”), he’s making a good name for himself in Hollywood.
Can’t wait for this movie…here I was thinking that I’d missed my shot at seeing Benjamin Walker play a bad-a$$ version of a president.
What a goddamn sellout this man has turned into
So? Him selling out means not making crappy music and instead doing awesome movie scores and ridiculous roles, not to mention acting really healthy and together. If you ask me, most people who staked a career as unique and individual-oriented as Reznor don’t wind up nearly as lucky or awesome in their later career. Go Trent, this is sweet!
It’s not 1994.
Why is it that any time a musician tries to branch out they’re called a “sellout”.
Is Trent not allowed to change? I would certainly hope so; he’s not 26 years old anymore.
Becoming successful at the thing you to love to do is selling out? Really? I guess You’ll never better yourself….
ok A$$- Reznor has been making incredible music outside of the mainstream for like 25yrs now and finally gets some critical praise, youre gonna call him a sellout?! Fincher directed the video for his one and only true megahit closer over 15 yrs ago, it made sense for reznor to score the social network. The sheer fact that the acadamy recognized his brilliance and originality gives me a glimmer of hope for the future of cinema, music, and art in general. In this day of recycled ideas a truely original voice is a rare thing indeed. You are a total moron.
Fincher did not direct the video for Closer. Mark Romanek did.
Fincher did Only
“Selling Out” is exclusively for the extremely talented. I don’t imagine “you” who use the term so disrespectfully, have ever-even had the offer to sell out…You don’t have enough skills to make the world notice.
-because you don’t have recognizable skills
God ick, bitter much?
Reznor has been making incredible music outside of the mainstream for like 25yrs now and finally gets some critical praise,I was blown away. Fincher directed the video for his one and only true megahit “closer” over 15 yrs ago, it made sense for reznor to score the social network. Again, Mark Romanek directed the video. Fincher just used the song in the credits for Seven.
I’m glad you all are defending Reznor against the ridiculous “sellout” charge. Was Danny Elfman a sellout for becoming a composer after Oingo Boingo?
I’m just disturbed that the rock and roll Reznor now looks like an insurance salesman.
Although IMO he still makes the same pissed off music we love, his lighter turn on Soc Netwrk got him noticed big time. He is def a changed man now and doesnt care what everyone thinks at this point in his life. I will def still support him with his future projects. Remember Maynard from Tool did a cameo in the last Crank movie and is making wine
Yeah Fincher didn’t direct the video for “Closer”. Fincher directed the video for “Only”.
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Reznor is the next Ozzy. How long will it be before he comes out with an MTV reality show featuring him, his ugly wife & his bratty kids?
If you’re so “done with Reznor” why are you here?
Fabulous! Love Trent.
I found this in an anonymous blog entry from 2002: “among the goth-industrial elite Trent Reznor is almost universally loathed and despised, considered a sell-out.”
Trent Reznor is the goth-industrial elite.
What sort of pseudo-intellectual wanna be elitist snob trolls the internet for anonymous blog posts from 2002? Where are the so called elite now and where is Reznor in comparison? Bitter much?
I seriously cannot wait for this movie. I love Ben Walker to death (and have met him, he’s SO NICE!) and I am reading the novel right now (it’s a masterpiece.) Trent Reznor could be cool.
