He was back at it yesterday, telling RadarOnline that his close friend, Tony Todd, would take over the role of Willie “Mays” Hayes, since Wesley Snipes, who played the speedy centerfielder in the first film, is currently serving time in a Pennsylvania prison for tax evasion. “He’s almost as good a ball player as I am,” Sheen said. “And he’s perfect for the role because he’s going to have more personality than anybody that’s ever lived … except me.”
But Morgan Creek, the company developing the sequel, tells EW that there’s “no truth to this at all,” and that there is no current movement on this project. I wonder why?

Why does everyone keep calling it Major League 3? It would be the 4th one since they did Back to the Minors.
