Director David Slade (30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has signed on to direct a new Daredevil movie that will continue the story of the blind superhero established in 2003′s Daredevil, but feature a brand new cast (i.e., no Ben Affleck or Jennifer Garner). Former Fox chairman Peter Chernin will produce through his company Chernin Entertainment. No screenwriter has been announced.
Why continue? While Spider-man should be left alone, Daredevil needs to, not only be rebooted, but switched to MAC!
DD is a mildly interesting character at best, does not need the movie treatment

I wish Marvel Studios had the film rights back. As long as these characters are being filmed outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they will exist alone in their own worlds, the only superhero, with no potential for team-ups or any kind of crossover. The Avengers proved that people LOVE crossovers!

Statham has the physical skills for DD but can’t do an american accent to save his life.
It’s strange that they aren’t going for a stright-up reboot, particularly since they are not using the same cast; though it may very well turn out that this is a reboot.
Fox will never let the rights lapse back to Marvel on any of their properties. Good luck figuring out the story for this reboot. Shoulda just killed two franchises with one stone and made Daredevil vs. Punisher.

As long as they make the movie more in line with the Director’s Cut of the original movie, I’m intrigued. That version completely surpassed the theatrical release in almost every way.
