A Weinstein Company spokeswoman has confirmed to EW that Billy Bob Thornton is in talks to reprise his role as Willie T. Stokes in a Bad Santa sequel. (TheWrap first reported the news.) In the 2003 R-rated comedy, Thornton played a vulgar con-man who dressed up as Kris Kringle to rob various department stores. The Weinstein Company announced last December that it would be partnering with Miramax to produce a Bad Santa sequel, among other movies, but it’s still unknown whether director Terry Zwigoff will be involved. Zwigoff could not be reached for comment. The original Bad Santa opened to favorable reviews and grossed $60.1 million domestically.

“Bad(der) Santa” is a hilarious movie and is must-watch viewing every holiday season for me. I don’t think it’s a movie that *needs* a sequel, but if they come up with a decent story, I’ll go see it for sure.
How about he reprise his role in Sling Blade?
Any news if any of the other cast will be back, namely Lauren Graham?
Yeah and Bernie Mack?
Erm you do know his dead right.
I know the little guy ran him over in the movie but they could still bring him back.
Dude, the actor has passed away, so bringing him back, even if his character wasn’t dead, would be somewhat problematic.
He’s dead in real life and he died in the movie too.
Holy cow, bring back that kid! He is the main reason my family watches this movie every year at Christmas! We are constantly saying to each other: “Where do the reindeer sleep? What about the elves? What about Mrs. Santa?” (And yes, I know he must be much older now–I’m sure a story can still be done!)
EW neglects to mention here that when “Bad Santa” opened, their snotty critics awarded it with an “F”.
I would love to see Bernie Mack reprise his role, but what I am really hoping for is a Lauren Grahm nude scene!
Seriously, 2 different people are saying “I hope Bernie Mac reprises his role?” Are you people kidding? Sadly, Bernie Mac passed away over two years ago. On top of that, his character in the first movie was killed anyway.
If the script is good and Zwigoff is back then I might see it. Otherwise it’s just another circle jerk.
