Hollywood lost a legend today when two-time Academy Award winner Elizabeth Taylor finally succumbed to a long illness. Though the star of films like Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof passed away just hours ago, notable personalities have already taken to Twitter to post messages of remembrance and celebration. We’ll be adding to this post as the day goes on and more celebs tweet about the violet-eyed star — who, by the way, had a Twitter account of her own: @DameElizabeth. Her last tweet was sent out February 9, right before she was hospitalized for congestive heart failure.

Stupid article, who cares what these D-List “stars” tweet.
D-list…you r kidding right..do some research.
Do I detect Jealousy?? If they are on the D-List as you say, then YOU must be on the Z-List or would that be the zero list?
Exactly!
So glad to finally know what Bethenny Frankel had to say about this. I was so curious.
True – when such a ‘celebrity’ as Bethanny speaks – we all listen. And this piece of trash is completely incapable of writing a grammatically correct sentence… pathetic
You need to get a life!
Responding to Hater’s post: Perhaps I do need to get a life (and I will think about it, thanks for suggestion) however, this does not take away from the fact that Bethenny is still trash.
I’d also include Marlee Matlin in the mix. She always tweets about celebrity passings.
@Cara: LOL OL OL
RIP Liz! You will never be forgotten. Now you`re with Michael and Richard. My favorite movie of yours was `Who`s Afraid of Virginia Woolf`.
Surely heaven has a glorisous, beautiful angel in residence now. RIP Elizabeth Taylor
‘Just me, or are we all hoping Liz picks Burton for her Heaven Husband?’
Whaat…? Really, that’s the joke he made? A little respect. RIP Elizabeth Taylor
From my earliest memories of Elizabeth Taylor, I knew she was a rare and unique actress who had something to teach the rest of us.
Rest in peace!
More than her big roles in movies, I recall some of the smaller, more offbeat thing she did and treated with the same class that she brought to the big screen: She and Richard Burton on one of Lucy’s sitcoms with Liz’s ring stuck on Lucy’s hand. The original Helena Cassadine on GH.
God Bless.
Something went out of the world with the passing of Dame Elizabeth. I always thought of her as immortal. I will miss her.
wsugar – you are an inconsiderate MORON and obviously would not make a speck of nail polish on Elizibeth Taylors finger nail. RIP Dame Elizabeth!!!!
Elizabeth Taylor! The name evokes glamour, Old Hollywood, romance, dazzling jewelry. However, she was an icon who never took the safe route. She was fierce, independent, and blazed her own trails. Most of all, she was compassionate. At the time when AIDS was viewed like the pox, she brought the human aspect of it. When Rock Hudson was treated as a pariah, she was there. She believed in MJ when he was put through the shredder. What a loyal friend to have, and what a stand she took when people were afraid to touch elevator buttons in fear of contracting AIDS. RIP dear Elizabeth Taylor, you are one of a kind, maybe the only one.
The likes of Dame Elizabeth Taylor will never be duplicated. She was one in a zillion. Beauty, brains, business sense and CLASS. A life racked will illness, pain and heartache. May her family know that the world of moview goers join in their grief.
I thought she was great in ‘Cleopatra’. Now if she bumps into Richard Burton again, she’ll know she went to Hell.
MAY THE LORD JUDGE YOU KINDLY…
Why wouldn’t he?
It’s sad, but life.
The way it was is something that for me is still bit difficult to comprehend.
She was diagnosed a quit long time ago with a heart condition, and passed long periods on hospitals since then.
A bug/disease/condition that is commonly to acquire involuntarily on hospitals is “staphylococcus” bacteria.
Staphylococcus bacteria is a thing that if not properly treated can evolute to heart disease, liver, kidney, lungs diseases.
Just Google it to known more about it.
Another thing that is normally associated whit “staphylococcus bacteria” is allergies whit the denomination IgE, IgA, IgG and IgM, that normally make lots of victims that died on the start of spring and at the start of autumn/fall and during those seasons due to mistreatment of symptoms that are commonly associated whit Staphylococcus and Allergies.
just Google this and read about the common symptoms associated that normally are considered other things completely in an oppose direction.
Rest In Peace
Our youngest daughter was named after her. We had another name picked out, but when the nurse showed her to me- I said “she looks like Elizabeth Taylor” and that’s why she has that beautiful name today. I know- I was kinda crazy, worn out and on drugs right then, but have never regretted giving her that name. Even though she didn’t grow up looking like her so much- both still beautiful women.
