'The Hangover Part II' poster: Where's Justin Bartha?

The new poster for The Hangover Part II proclaims “The Wolfpack is Back,” but the question fans are asking: Where’s Doug (Justin Bartha)? Didn’t he first make Alan (Zach Galifianakis) feel like he was no longer a lone wolf? A rep for Warner Bros. declined to comment. Earlier this month, Bartha told Empire that Doug isn’t lost in the sequel. “There are similar circumstances,” he said, “but he’s a little bit more involved.” So we assume he does get separated from the trio again (though this time they know where he is), and that he’s not been magically transformed into that well-dressed monkey.

We also assume having the trio on a poster with wildlife is a nice callback to this one for the first movie.

Ehh, Justin Bartha really wasn’t an important part of the first movie, I won’t miss him if he has little screen time.

I just feel bad for the guy. Theoretically, he should be a bigger part of the sequel, but no one really cares about him.

yea ur right mike they didnt try to find him the entire movie.

      • Mike

The character was important to the plot, but the actor only portrayed him for maybe five minutes.

    • katie

Totally agree. He’s barely in the first movie and no one cares about his actual character. No way should he be in the poster.

    • Jamaaliver

It seems inevitable. Lightning rarely strikes twice.

And really, has there ever been a successful comedy sequel?

      • Jason

        Austin Powers!

      • GeeMoney

Rush Hour 2 was just as funny, if not funnier than the first one. So you never know.

    • Ian

am I the only one who has a strange feeling that Tony did terrible in English class?

      • Kate

I assume you mean terribly in English class. Either your irony was lost or you really shouldn’t be correcting other people’s mastery of the English language.

    • Laura

Yeah I was thinking the same! The first one was just flawless so the idea of a sequel screams “money!” to the studios. I’m sure they spent a pretty penny on this movie and I’m sure It’ll do great it’s opening weekend of course, let’s just hope it turns out okay in t he long run.

  • Emma

I don’t really care if he’s in it, I just hope they don’t make it into a lame sequel with predictable laughs. The thing I loved about the Hangover (and I’m a girl!) is that it had really weird moments and hilarious quotes and subplots. Love it to death, will definitely see the sequel, hope they don’t ruin it.

    • Laura

Thanks for clarifying your a girl! I could have never guessed, with Emma being your name and all.

  • Liz Lemon

I’m assuming they’re going to lose him again in this one. I don’t think he was on any of the posters for the first one either.

  • Justin

Bartha wasn’t too much of a factor in the first film. It was mostly about this trio searching for him. Whether he makes an appearance or not, all I really care about is this film being as hilarious as the first one.

    • Rolo Tomasi

Well since the first one wasn’t that hilarious, I guess you don’t have high expectations

  • Jam

Obviously Riley is in the far east making National Treasure 3, the search for the golden monkey , with Nicolas Cage

  • MCS

Im sorry but Justin Bartha just isnt part of the Hangover’s success. He rightfully isnt on the poster.

  • Summer Bay

Um… does Cooper’s character suffer a overdose? it looks like he’s dead.

  • Mindy

It would be a minor miracle if this turns out to be good. I liked the first one because it was sort of crazy. Can they pull it off again without it seeming like a knock off? There are two things in its favor: 1. The chemistry between these three was great. 2. A lot of the humor in the first one came from the terrific editing. Both of those things can be replicated.

  • Daw Johnson

**NO ONE** is asking “where’s Doug?”

Comedy died a painful death every time he appeared on screen.

More importantly, the character was the world’s biggest geek. He had no chemistry with the other three–and one of the truly illogical points of the movie was the fact that Doug, rather than Alan, was the ACTUAL friend of Stu and Phil. Alan fit in with the group so much better.
