Bryan Cranston in talks for 'Total Recall'

Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic

Bryan Cranston, Emmy-winning star of Breaking Bad, is in talks to play the villain in Sony’s upcoming remake of the mind-bending Mars trip, Total Recall. A spokesperson for the studio confirmed a Variety report that the actor, who already is slated to star in next year’s John Carter of Mars, could be set opposite Colin Farrell’s hero, who plays an Average Joe who may or may not be an intergalactic man of mystery.

Great actor… but ANOTHER freakin’ remake?!

There isn’t a big enough “UGH!”

It’s not a remake, its an adaption the short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” and unlike the 1990 movie, it will faithfully adapt it. Plus it’ll be awesome to see Cranston in a role like that.

Cranston is already the master of Comedy and Drama, so Sci-Fi/Action is the next logical step. Hope they give him Ronny Cox’ line from the original: “You’ll be dead and I’ll be home in time for Corn Flakes!”

    Don’t do it, Bryan!

The most important two things in this movie are
    1) Girl with 3 boobs
    2) The “Get your ass to Mars” line must get stuck in my head for another couple of decades.

Is it really necessary to remake every good movie ever made? . I don’t see a need to remake this one.
