The hunt for Snow White’s huntsman continues: Just one week after Universal offered Hugh Jackman the role of the huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman, EW has confirmed that the actor (recently with some free time on his hands due to the delay of The Wolverine) is no longer in talks for the role.

Viggo Mortensen was originally in negotiations for the part in the Rupert Sanders-directed film — which has an offer out to Kristen Stewart to play Snow White, and Charlize Theron in place to play the Evil Queen — but parted ways in late March.

Good thing. He’s too talented and likable for a Kristen Stewart movie.

    • Amy

Counting the days until Theron wizens up and drops out. This movie’s officially been given the Kristen Stewart curse

      • katie

Totally! Why would any of these real actors want to work with K Stew? She’s a terrible actress as Bella, and I cannot even fathom her as Snow White. I’m all about the Lily Collins/Julia Roberts version though.

      • Aly

I thought Kristen did great as Bella. If you’ve read the books, her character is really that lame. But what’s up with her playing all these hapless damsels in distress?

      • knucklebuster

Out of her 20+ other movies, when else did she play a damsel in distress? Zathura maybe?

      • Julie

        Haha! Zathura!

    • Kat

      demented- I completely agree!

    • ?????

I totally agree. the Stewart Curse!!!!

      • knucklebuster

Wow really? Curse? You hags are sinking really low. Jealousy will eat you up.

      • yup

knucklebuster i think you are just a fan that likes to jack off to her. she stinks

    • Liz Lemon

They sure are having a hard time casting this one. I bet they go back to Viggo or get someone like Brendan Fraser.

      • kimmy

brendan is too busy making weird animal movies….

    • Sonny’s Girl

Is the huntsman supposed to be Snow White’s love interest? If he is, why is no one mentioning how creepy it is that they’re trying to cast actors old enough to be Kristen Stewart’s father.

      • knucklebuster

I haven’t read the script but it seems that SW may become a bit infatuated with the Huntsman at some point or maybe not at all. Love interest? No. That’s what the Prince is for.

  • shawshank

I can’t believe how much digital ink has been used on a movie that will NEVER happen. The Julia Roberts/Lily Collins version will and this project will be forgotten. They only have one principal in place, and it’s not one of the title characters.

  • chocolateislove

    Charlize Theron, not Charlie.

  • Hmmm…

…I wonder what could be the issue, surely it can’t have anything to do with Kristen Stewart. It must be the completely talentless Charlize Theron that is turning these men off.

    • Chelsea

      bwahahaha

  • Marc

Josh Holloway should be considered here…would someone please give my boy a leading role!

    • Delilah

      Second!

    • debra bales

yes please have josh holloway, play the part,id go see it at the movies, own it on blu ray, nice fantasy

    • Dan

He must be one of the midgets.

  • Chelsea

The studio needs to scrap KS as Snow White and cast Michael Fassbender as the hunter.I’d see Fassbender in anything. I mean really, Charlize jealous of KRISTEN STEWART?

  • KS

I think Charlize sounds great and I am down for Fassbender or Holloway, but Kristen Stewart, who I sadly share the same initials as, couldn’t act her way out of a vampire movie.

    • kate

Robert Pattinson was far worse than Kristen Stewart in the Twilight movies yet he is offered roles and no one complains about his lack of acting skills. Kristen has been in many other movies where she proves she can act.

      • anti

Hey, don’t bring Rob in this just because your preciouse Krisbian is being dish. Fight your own battle.

Anyway Hugh Jackman is a boring actor. Tom Hardy, Fassbender would be great.

I prefer this to Roberts SW, boring.

      • ShariG

You are kidding, right? Kristin Stewart is wooden. She is so up tight that all of her characters are pretty much exactly the same. Rob Pattinson has a far greater acting range and, well, he is likeable. That goes a long way with both movie goers and directors. I actually wish them both well, but Rob has proven over and over again that he can act. I can’t imagine anyone else making Edward Cullen into a cultural phenomenon with women of all ages, not just teens.

      • knucklebuster

Um, no… they aren’t kidding. Clearly you are a bit misinformed. Kristen has had many great performances out of the the nearly 25 movies shes been in. She is very respected in the industry by Directors and her piers and is well liked by critics(barring Twilight). Rob has only been in a handful of movies himself. Correct me if I’m wrong but none of them gained any considerable acclaim on his part. I like Rob, I don’t know too much about him but even I know he would tell you he isn’t nearly as proven as Kristen is(whom, btw, he called the greatest of their generation).

  • joebecca

so funny you guys dog KStew while she laughs all the way to the bank!!! haha!

    • whatevs

Sure, most celebrities do that. We don’t care how much money she has; it doesn’t change what she is.

    • yup

and she laughs all the way to the bank thinking of people like you as well. you thinks she gives a chitt about you?

      • anonymous

She doesn’t have any roles and no one wants to be in this train wreck that’s why you her insane fans are dissing any actor that declines working with her.

  • Justin Beaver

We should expect seven of the following recognisable actors with comedic experience to play the Seven Dwarfs – Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey – who have a scene where they all sing “Heigh-Ho” from the original 1937 classic film:

Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg, Eddie Izzard, Rowan Atkinson, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Rob Schneider, Jeremy Piven, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, William Shatner, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Tim Allen, Chevy Chase, John Goodman, Billy Connolly, Danny DeVito, Robin Williams, George Lopez, John Cleese, Steve Coogan.

Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho!
Hi ho! Hi ho!
It’s home from work we go (whistles)

  • James

Regardless of how you feel about Theron or Stewart, this version looks like it’s on life support if they can’t even cast the **titular** huntsman. Especially considering that the rival production already has its cast in place and looks like it’s further ahead.

  • Scribe

I think they read the script or saw any one of the Twilight films…

  • P

Too bad – he would have made a great Snow White.

    • hotpot

      P you are so funny!

  • Lia

I like Kristen Stewart ok but how many pale chicks from books can she do? I don’t want to see her as Snow White, try again. As for Hugh, I’m not shocked he and Viggo said no. We all know they’re putting out two of these suckers at around the same time. No one wants to risk being in ‘the bad one’.

    • hotpot

Plus Hugh has to commit to his baby – the Wolverine.

  • Sophie

Good thing too. Jackman is too squeaky clean for this role. Viggo or Tom Hardy are the types that this role is clearly meant for. am sure they’ll find someone better suited soon

  • lizbeth

Hugh – you are too good for this…..stop with the silly roles, you’ve earned it……take your life seriously……and also don’t do any more of those wolverine roles…….you are worth so much more……..gorgeous and talented…how hard can it be….don’t fall for the money……it will take you out…in the end…
