Minerva McGonagall is an action star: Awesome.

Another day, another poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2. Wait, make that 11 posters. At this point, seeing Harry, Ron, or Hermione before a backdrop of a war-torn Hogwarts is simultaneously cool and a bit of a snooze. But having Prof. McGonagall, Neville Longbottom, Griphook, and the Weasley Twins get their own posters is awesome. Check them out below.

These are all awesome, but where is Molly Weasley’s action shot?!

    • Lizabeth

I know! I really hope that part makes it into the movie!

      • Miles.M

You can see Molly fighting Bellatrix in one of the new TV spots!!

    • Katja

Oh wow, Molly Weasley on a poster would have been awesome. I don’t have high hopes for this movie (I haven’t liked the way they’ve changed the movies so much; I’m one of those annoying purists), but I CAN’T WAIT to see Mrs. Weasley kick some ass.

Alright maybe I’m crazy, but I can kindof see Emma Watson and Alan Rickman getting Oscar nods for this (Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.)

      • Dave

Emma Watson should have gotten some serious recognition for Deathly Hallows Part 1. Maybe not as Oscar nod, but something. She was honestly very good in that movie. And Michael Gambon should have received recognition for Half-Blood Prince. People probably think I’m crazy, but those were some mighty fine performances. I’ve seen performances not nearly as good get Oscar nominations.

Love that all (well, almost all) the characters get a poster! Can’t wait.

  • Molly’s Mother

Molly’s has her opening up a can of “Whoop-Ass-I-Done-Killed-You-Beyotch” on Miss Helena.

I might cry at the Fred and George poster…..LOVE the Neville and McGonagall ones!

    • Prince William

Those are my favorite three as well.

      • kate middleton

        You have great taste.

    • Liz Lemon

ME too. I LOVE that poster. I think this is the first time they’ve ever been on a poster. Also, love the Hermione, Neville, and strangely…the Griphook posters. The Griphook one is really cool for some reason.

      • Dave

Yeah, the Griphook one is pretty sweet, I like it too.

    • steph

      i LOVE BA Neville!

  • megan

    Loved the twins’ poster!

  • Lori

About time Dame Maggie Smith got her action shot! She’s been a very important presence in the movies, and a beloved actress on both sides of the pond. I think I might weep on 7/15 after the movie ends, and it sinks in that there won’t be any more. Had the same reaction tgo the LOTR movies. There won’t be anything to look forward to!

    • adam

I agree. Was I the only one slightly depressed by her absence in Deathly Hallows Part 1? I understand that it made sense for her not to be in it, but she’s such a comforting presence in these movies.

      • Liz Lemon

I don’t think Hogwarts was shown at all in Part I, so I think the first time I see it on-screen again in Part II will be very emotional. And then it will get blown to pieces.

    • D

Awhhh cheer up, at least they’re making LOTR the hobbit, same cast and everything, split into two parts

    • Bob

Were these done by IL&M? Maggie Smith has never looked so…young.

  • icandoscience

I want all of these. Esp. the Fred and George one. Even though I’m pretty sure they aren’t gingers in real life. I just saw an interview with them and they had pretty natural-looking brown hair. Oh well…

    • del

If you follow their twitter feeds, you get a TON of pics of them being ‘gingered up’ by the set hairstylist. They had to go for touchups every few days during active filming.

  • jobobspecial2

the best part about this movie is gonna be when that weasley brother dies

    • Gred

      Thanks a lot.

  • MIndy

I love that they’re ALL dueling. (Well, minus Griphook who doesn’t have a wand.) Really shows that they’re all at war and fighting.
I especially like Neville with the Sword of Gryffindor and a glimpse of something below him, and Prof McGonagall with the enchanted, fighting suits of armor, as well as the Weasley twins. And Draco is with the Fiend Fyre, perfect. So intense! Even everybody in the backgrounds is fighting. Love it. Can’t wait!
(PS. Why does Hermione’s wand look different? She doesn’t have to use someone else’s in 7, does she?)

    • kate middleton

I think she does have someone else’s wand after they escape from Malfoy Manor. I am re-reading it now (almost done), but I could be forgetting. I think it says something about how Hermione understood why Harry had trouble after his wand broke, when she thought it was all psychological at first.

    • Liz Lemon

      She has Bellatrix’s wand. Remember.
They stole it after they fleed Malfoy Manor. That’s how they get in her vault.

      • MIndy

Oh yeah! How could I have forgotten that?? Now I’m embarrassed. Man, Bellatrix has a nasty looking wand.

    • RJ

Harry, Ron, and Hermione all lost their wands at Malfoy Manor. Hermione has Bellatrix’s, Harry has Draco’s, and Ron has Wormtail’s.

    • lol

because for a reason she jold bellatrix’s wand when she supposed to fight with her wand !

  • Karin

love all of them, bought my tickets today for the midnight premiere (midnight of 12-13 july in the netherlands, that is)

  • Henri M.

The photoshop on Maggie Smith’s poster is awful. Her head looks detatched.

    • Jason

It’s a movie still, all they did is photoshopped her skin smooth.

  • sil

that is friggin bad ass!!! i cannot wait.. i really hope she leads the desks down the hallway yelling “charge!!!”

    • rughfd

they cut that bit from the movie also the idiot producers and directors thought that she didn’t make the suits come alive so the lines will be different

  • Brett

    Photoshoppicus Overdonicus.

    • Gred

      Agreed man.

  • Person

I’m really hoping that this gets some Oscar love. The franchise is looooooong overdue. Maybe it could be like LOTR 3 and get awarded on it’s last chance. Alan Rickman, Emma Watson, Ralph Fiennes, whoever plays McGonnagle, Neville, Mrs. Weasly, Dan Radcliffe, Helena Bonham Carter and Rupert Grint all should be considered for noms. Also noms for picture, director, adapt screenplay, visual effects, sound mixing sound editing, art
    direction and score

    • rughfd

      its Maggie Smith-McGonnagle
      Matthew Lewis-Neville
      Julie Walters-Molly

    • AB

      Keep dreaming.
I love these movies too, but keep dreaming. They aren’t Oscar material, except for the technicals.
