Diablo Cody, who rocketed to fame and Oscar glory with her screenplay for the 2007 breakout hit Juno, is set to make her debut as a director with Lamb of God. The comedy, which Cody also scripted, tells the story of a conservative religious woman who begins questioning her beliefs after a plane crash and decides to try out life as a sinner in Las Vegas, only to rediscover her faith again.
Lamb of God will be produced by Mandate Pictures, which also produced Juno and Cody’s next outing as a screenwriter, the upcoming comedy Young Adult – which, like Juno, is being directed by Jason Reitman. Cody’s other writing credits include Showtime’s United States of Tara and the 2009 horror comedy Jennifer’s Body.
I’ll check it out. I have yet to dislike anything she has done (yes I liked Jennifer’s Body.) Still upset United States of Tara got canceled. Really an excellent show.
i wrote her off as a petulant tool after juno, but goddam Jennifer’s Body is one of my favs + im also bummed about US of Tara

It’s about time she tried her hand at directing, but I still wish she had her column with EW. It was usually pretty good!
Jennifer’s Body was hilarious and very clever. Better than Juno I think. Diablo gets a rough deal from all the haters.

I’m still in the process of forgiving her for the big pile of crap that was Juno. It had the most leads I can ever recall. And it passed for clever and witty!

Jennifer’s Body was way better than it was given credit for. And United States of Tara was an excellent show that didn’t deserve to be canceled. I’m looking forward to Diablo’s directorial debut.
Jennifer’s Body would have been more well received if Megan Fox had not been in it.

It’s good to hear that I’m not the only one who liked Jennifer’s Body. I thought it was funny and well done. I’m going to miss Tara but I don’t remember seeing Diablo’s name as a writer on any episodes this season and I think the show suffered because of it.
