EW has confirmed that Disney and Marvel Studios are planning to release a sequel to this summer’s hit superhero film Thor on July 26, 2013. That puts the sequel only a couple months behind Iron Man 3, another Marvel film currently slated for a May 3, 2013 release. According to a report in Deadline, Kenneth Branagh will not return to direct Thor 2; Marvel Studios would not comment on Branagh’s participation, or lack thereof, at this time. At the film’s premiere in Los Angeles, however, Branagh was demure when asked about a Thor sequel. “You hear about people saving things for film two or three,” the director told EW. “I don’t understand that at all. I put it all in there if I thought it’d help the film be better. You can think of stuff for two or three later, if you get the chance to do them. But you won’t if one isn’t good enough.”
We can expect to learn more about the Thunder God’s sequel at Comic-Con, but for now, we’ll have to satisfy ourselves by trying to guess the film’s non-numeric sequel title. Thor: Lord of Asgard? Thor: Journey Into Mystery? Thor: Ragnarok?

Hopefully in the sequel there will be more Ray Stevenson, more Asgard scenes, and less S.H.E.I.L.D.

I really liked Thor. I am curious as to how this and the avengers is all going to play out. And then a sequel? I guess it doesnt pay to be out of touch
Thor: Shirtless and Hot!! Tee-hee!!
That costume should’ve been sleeveless. Hemsworth has the guns to pull it off.
Kenneth definitely made an impact in my enjoyment of the film – I noticed the direction (in a good way) and didn’t know it was him until the end credits!
i loved thor…mostly because of chris hemsworth (he’s so hot!), i’m not sure about a sequel though.
I would take a sequel of nothing but hemsworth in no shirt
Thor: Shirtless and Hot!! Tee-hee!
OH man give it a rest Marvel
I know exactly what you mean.
yah Marvel give it a rest on your movies that make you 300million dollars and movies that critics and fans enjoy..DAM IT MARVEL STOP MAKING SUCCESSFUL MOVIES
Where did you see critics enjoyed this particular movie ?
EW gave it an A-
Awesome!
Hopefully, the next director will do as good a job as Branagh did.
This could be good…
or it could suck
I’m hoping for good!
Aw man, Branagh’s direction was one of the best parts of the movie.
I second that
Loved Thor I Was hoping for a sequel and now we get it. I am a little sad Branagh is not coming back after doing such a good job But I trust that Marvel studios will find the right Replacement They Haven’t made a bad move yet And when i mean yet. I don’t know if yet will stay there for long though.Chris Evans As Captain america. Not convinced
It is this summer’s best comic book movie so far. Can’t wait for the sequel!
Kill off Natalie Portman’s character & i’ll watch another one.
Portman was AWFUL in Thor. She pretty much pissed all over her Academy Award
she did indeed
YES!!!!!! love this movie!!!!! Thor is awesome!!!
Thumb up! Chris Hemsworth is absolutely gorgeous and is the hottest actor ever.
Give us the Enchantress!
I second that
Thor was a fun super hero movie. However, I’ll have major renovations if Branagh isn’t back. The character and his fantastical story was very difficult to bring to the movies with credibility. Branagh was great at keeping the core but relating to folks that weren’t familiar with the comics. Great job and most directors fail at such things. Wary…
If Branagh isn’t back, I’ll also have major renovations – my house could use some improvements.
lolrz
Josh D have you seen Iron Man 2 or any of the 16 Hulk Movies
