It looks like the already star-studded film adaptation of Heidi Murkoff’s pregnancy guidebook What To Expect When You’re Expecting can expect another big name on set. Lionsgate announced on Monday that new mom Elizabeth Banks has signed on to play a baby-crazy children’s book author and breast-feeding enthusiast, who is quite opinionated on child rearing until she happens to get pregnant for the first time. Banks already had a healthy baby boy via surrogate in March and gave birth to Alec Baldwin’s daughter this year on 30 Rock, so she will bring plenty of recent experience to the role.

Also joining the ranks is Childrens Hospital and I Love You, Man star Rob Huebel. Huebel will play Gale, a new parent who adjusts to fatherdom by bonding with other dads in a city park-based group that is “part play group, part secret society.”

Banks and Huebel join a cast that already includes Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, and mother of twins Jennifer Lopez.  The Kirk Jones-directed film will be an interlocking ensemble comedy in the same vein of Love, Actually and Valentine’s Day, so it’s safe to be expecting other big casting announcements from Lionsgate in the near future.

Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.
