Sarah Palin's documentary to expand after decent box-office showing

the_undefeated

The Undefeated, the documentary film that highlights the amazing political journey of Sarah Palin, is expanding its release after a solid opening weekend at the box office. Though the movie brought in just $65,132 in 10 theaters, only four other films averaged more than its per-screen average of $6,513 last weekend. Today, ARC Entertainment announced plans to bring the movie to 14 theaters this weekend. “Given the audience response on our opening weekend we now know we have a film that works,” said director Stephen K. Bannon in a statement. “Our objective is very simple — to bring this film to every market and every corner of the country; starting with a limited theatrical release and then through an aggressive broader distribution strategy including streaming video, on-demand access and DVD.”

The Undefeated will roll out in new markets, including Tucson, Ariz.; West Palm, Fla.; Milwaukee, Wisc.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Ontario, Calif. For a complete list of theaters, click here.

  • Sarah Palin is a w h o r e, and a total l oser. Let’s Teabag her!

    Undefeated? Yeah right!

    • Cygnus

I wouldnt call $6k a screen a decent box office showing. I see it as a lack of support from her supposed followers, considering this mostly only opened in Palin strongholds. Every week she becomes more and more irrelevant.

      • Will

Also consider the (as of now) 0% on rotten tomatoes…It also has a 0% in user reviews (out of 1,331)

      • Rico

How many of those “reviewers” actually saw the film?

      • Viper1

And you hold precisely what position in the film industry? Staff accountant? Studio accountant?

Are you a theater owner? Do you know the projected gross?

    • Strepsi

It’s hard to be “defeated” when you QUIT YOUR JOB half way through your term!

      • unnecessary

sure is… just ask obama who did the same thing when he bailed out of senator to run for president.

      • Z

No he didn’t you moron…he didn’t resign from the Senate until after he was elected President. And numerous other former Presidents did the exact same thing beofre him…they ran for the presidency while continuing to serve as a Senator or Governor. He resigned to become President…she resigned to do a reality show.

      • Buffy Freak

Obama resigned on Sunday November 16th 2008…that’s 12 days after being elected President…Palin resigned on July 3rd 2009 to become a nuisance.

      • Rico

Obama was promoted. Palin, I suppose in a way, considered her resignation as a promotion, too. She is making a LOT more money, now. This is why I’m not sure the presidency is of any interest to her. After all, it’d be a paycut. Money means more to her than public service.

      • Wjgbalderama

Do something about your ABJECT IGNORANCE, people. Go see the movie or read about WHY SHE QUIT.

      • TrueAmerican

Typical progressive liberal self-guilt whining. I cannot wait to see the faces of idiots like you when the community organizer gets his walking papers in 2012.

    • Well…

I actually think this article might be a little sarcastic. “Only four other films averaged more,” and going from 10 to 14 theaters to “expand.” Ha! Man… setting the country on fire for sure!

  • Mary

She lost her election with John McCain. How does that make her “Undefeated”? Can’t wait to see what Jon Stewart does with this.

  • Z

She’s only undefeated against the wolves and moose she hunts from helicopters…she lost an election, resigned from an elected position and let at least 3 colleges beat her and now Michelle Bachmann is stealing her spotlight… so, Undefeated? Nope.

    • Sarah FAILin

“Michele Bachmann stole my thunder! Waaaaaahhhh! Quick, get me an interview with Katie Couric!”

  • ks

    HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • Other

She wasn’t interviewed for the film and had no part in its creation. Just made by a fanboy.

    • BigIslander

Actually, she asked the director to make the film.

      • unnecessary

from where did you learn that?

      • Z

Perhaps the same place you learned that Obama resigned from the Senate so he could run for President?

  • stuart blinkers

Palin? I’m there – I’m totally pitching a tent just thinking about it.

    • lou sarah

Well, that’s such a sweet thing to say! *wink*

  • tuesday

I can’t believe this clown is getting more screen time…I guess she wants to make sure her stupid comment are heard throughout north america’s r/n towns.

  • LOL

Teabaggers spank it right in the theatre while watching this.

    • Jane

I thought your messiah told you to tone it down after the Gifford shooting? Go on now, be obedient and don’t forget to eat your peas!

    • TrueAmerican

      Funny you think you are.

  • The Refudiator

I wonder how many tickets SarahPAC bought.

  • Sydney

I just read an article by a reporter who sat in the theater BY HERSELF on opening day. How is that considered a “decent showing”? And I hate that my hometown is one of the cities that the movie has expanded to.

    • TrueAmerican

Why don’t you check the other 56 states that your chosen one mentioned about which the lamesstream media failed to point out. Yes he actually said it but the progressive press always protects one of their own .

  • Clete

Sorry to say that I will probably miss this. Republican policies over the last eight years has made me to poor to attend movies.

    • America, Eff Yeah!

Too poor? My guess is that no employer is going to bother with a nimrod who can’t spell “too” correctly.

      • Clete

Actually, this “Nimrod” has been working for the same employer for the last thirty-two years, bet you haven’t.

      • GraF

        Yeah, the Democraps.

  • Peter Conejo

The more Palin shines and the more people realize that she is a great women and a patriot, the more desperate and idiotic the attacks by the LSM and the libtards.

    • yaya

calling them the lsm (lame stream media i’m assuming?) and libtards seems like a pretty idiotic attack itself.

    • Palin? Really?

Being a great woman and a patriot doesn’t automatically make you a viable candidate for the office of President of the United States. If that were the case, millions of other women across the country would be eligible as well. I prefer my Presidents to be educated, experienced, and courageous. Not a coward like Palin who hide’s from the spotlight of the media’s questions and only releases prepared statements via facebook and twitter that no one can challenge her position on. You really need to set your bar higher.

    • where’s Trig?

      “she is a great women”

      ????
      Sarah, is that you?

  • Peter Conejo

    woman I mean.

  • markinnyc

this movie inspired me to be more like her, so I left halfway through.

    • Pinchy McPunam

Hahaha! That’s awesome! This movie also inspired me so much that after I left the theater, I booked a trip to the country of Africa.

      • LouiseM

This is a great game. “This movie inspired me to be more like Saran, so I…” started a PAC and billed all of the new wardrobe of myself and all my family members, as well as our African vacations and bus trip, to it.

(Whatever happened to that bus tour, by the way?)

      • very_independent

Can you see Africa from your outhouse?

  • Other

    “BigIslander
    Tue 07/19/11 3:43 PM
Actually, she asked the director to make the film.”

Nope. She may have commented on it and it was based on stuff she said in “Going Rogue” but she has no credits in the film.

    • Kate

Palin approached Bannon about making a video about her and together they decided on a full-length feature film. She said this when she was interviewed in regards to the upcoming film.

As far as the film being a success, it has been dropped from 3 theatres, Orlando, Indianapolis and Independence due to poor sales. It’s going to have to do a lot better this weekend than last to keep going. But to call it a success is really pushing the bar to a very low level.
