By god, Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds will make you excited about seeing The Change-Up. In a new NSFW promo video, the stars of this Friday’s body-switching comedy don matching white suits and sit in an abstract art-gallery space to pitch their movie. Reynolds wearily notes that Change-Up is “no dumber than a movie about a bunch of talking apes.” Bateman tries reaching out to the all-important Asian demographic. At one point, Reynolds freaks out on a crewman. “Don’t hurt him, Lantern!” pleads his co-star. I’m attempting to remain un-charmed, but the goggles do nothing! Watch the video:

The Change-Up opens up with a poop-in-the-face gag, proceeds to hit about a dozen even more digustingly lowbrow gross-out gags in the next hour before becoming unbelievably sentimental and throwing in a montage set to the new Coldplay single. It’s a mess.
Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds are great, they’re great together, but this movie is lousy. They deserve something better.
they have worked together before. they were in Smoking Aces. one of Jason Bateman’s best scenes ever in that motel room.
He has hilarious in that scene. You’re correct in saying one of his best scenes.

I’m just glad the chips didn’t have a warning label about anal leakage – 10 points to anyone that can name that movie also costarring Jason Bateman!
