It was inconceivable to us that unofficial, blurry copies of EW’s photo of The Princess Bride‘s reunited cast have been floating around the Internet. Of course, for any fan of the 1987 fairy tale classic, seeing the real picture of the cast (check out the lovely homages to the late Peter Falk and André the Giant) would be more wonderful than even the most passionate and the most pure kisses. So, as you wish, see EW’s Princess Bride reunion photo after the jump (and click it to see at a larger size):

‘Princess Bride’ remake? ‘I hope I’m dead before that happens,’ says Mandy Patinkin
EW’s Cast Reunions

Great! but where’s fred savage???
In the magazine it only mentioned that he was “unavailable for the photo shoot.”
He’s Fred Savage… What’s he doing? Oh wait he’s a director now.
I don’t understand why they couldn’t Photoshop Fred Savage into the picture like they did Mandy Patinkin.
My best friend has just announced her wedding with a great man who is a cele+brity!
They met-via { millionaireluv^`c~o-m }
It is nice club for rich men or pretty girls mate.
You do not need to be wealthy or famous, but you can meet your true love, it’s worthy a try.
I thought that was who Christopher Guest was leaning on.
nice…
well put! well put!
He didn’t show up… apparently he’s a jerk.
Cary Elwes should have joined the A-list years ago and should have only been doing movies that got a theatrical release. Unfortunately, he has remained a straight to DVD king but he is an underrated actor. So, I hope that he does more mainstream movies, tries to reach his full potential as an actor and tries to win an Oscar.
I LOVE Cary Elwes. He is absolutely underrated. But that’s just one more reason I’m so excited (and this is going to sound unrelated, but I swear it’s not) that Psych is coming back on tonight on USA! He has guested twice on Psych as a very refined criminal…and I believe he’s going to make another appearance. Don’t know when, but I SO can’t wait. Thank god for that show’s obsession with pop culture nostalgia.
I know that is how I get my Elwes fix
I love him too!!! I even (very briefly) debated seeing No Strings Attached after I heard he was in it.
he was wasted in that movie. i didn’t even know it was him for most of it. i just kept wondering why they even had a subplot with his character. they must have cut the part down bc the whole thing with his character made no sense.
It was written as a much bigger role, that, unfortunately, ended up on the proverbial cutting-room floor.
I love that they really had everyone including the pictures of Andre the Giant and Peter Falk….now if only Fred Savage were holding the picture of Peter Falk. They even had a Rodent OF Unusual Size there!
One of my favorite movies of all time!
Unfortunately no Rob Reiner for the photo either.
Fred Savage was invited but unavailable that day.
They couldn’t get his image and photoshop Fred in???
I wish the picture was big enough to actually see!
totally agree. no wonder other sites were publishing blurry versions. at least make it a link to a larger version.
If you double click it pulls the pic up in it’s own window. It enlarges it enough to see more detail.
you could actually buy the magazine.
What?? Buy the magazine?? Such blasphemy! Who would do such a thing…
You DO realize some of us who loved the movie back then do NOT live in the US?!? Ever heard of Europe? Not everyone can buy the magazine because it’s *ghasp * not available in every country on the planet. To quite your own words: “Such blashemy!”
quote, not quite
Buy the magazine??? INCONCEIVABLE !!!
Come on EW, 900 pixels is the best you can do? Can you _please_ upload it in its FULL glory? 10MP or whatever it was. The Princess Bride is probably my favorite movie of all time; it never gets old.
Buy the magazine – well then I’d have to scan it in and it would probably look bad again. Not sure EW is sold here in Thailand either…
Well played, Troy…….well played!
Superb! One of the best films ever made. Love seeing these stars together. Let’s have a sequel focusing on Max and Valerie saving the mostly dead Count Rugen. And the saga continues with Inigo as the Dread Pirate Roberts.
To bad Andre the Giant isnt around
I love how they still incorporated Andre the Giant
Who’s by the horse?
Christopher Guest
Count Rugen (Christopher Guest) – the six-fingered man.
Gotta love Christopher Guest. From Count Rugen to Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap. That’s range!
Looks like Chris Guest.
that’s christopher guest who was prince humpberdink
LOVE this spread – really quite a pretty piece…
and the semi hidden ROUS is perfect
so sorry!!! correct actor, wrong character – Cat is correct…
Love this movie as a kid and love it even more today as an adult. Thanks for a great pic, EW. This is one movie that should NEVER be remade. Still mad they recycled Footloose.
Definitely no remake. How about a limited re-release like Disney did with The Lion King? I’d love the chance to see this in the movie theater. I was only 11 when it came out and didn’t know about it until a year or two later on HBO or The Movie Channel.
Not only have they recycled Footloose, but they’ve recycled Annie, and now they’ve recycled Conan The Barbarian… Come ON Hollywood, how about some NEW material? Quit trying to make a mint off of CLASSIC movies!
This just made my day!
I’ve been watching this movie with my kids for years. It has been quite a while since we last watched it – this reunion shoot prompted me to pull it out again. My 16 year old daughter always enjoyed the movie, but I never realized how much of it she didn’t get as a younger child. Watching it now, seeing how romantic Cary Elwes is, catching the sarcastic humor (Tyrone, you know how much I love watching you work, but I’ve got my country’s 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I’m swamped), the movie took on a whole new dimension for her. I don’t think we’ll wait years to watch it again! And I sure hope to see Cary Elwes on Psych again!
Damn they really should have had Inigo and Humperdink switch places in this photo. Humperdink should be feeding grapes to Buttercup and Inigo should be wielding the sword. Boo!!!
Agreed
LOVE that they got the R.O.U.S. to come to the photo shoot!
OK. I SWEAR I read somewhere that Shawn had died?! Obviously not … but … I KNOW I read that! OK, if it wasn’t Wallace Shawn, who the heck was it?! Not Andre or Peter Falk – this would have been a year or so ago, I guess? Am I crazy? Does anyone else remember this? It was SOMEONE who was touted in the obits as having had a role in TPB and having a fairly diverse career before/after … stage credits, maybe, or a one-man show…? I swear I’m not making this up!
Spalding Gray (Swimming to Cambodia) is the person you are thinking about. He commited suicide a year or so ago and had done one man shows, etc. I thought the same thing when I saw Wallace Shawn (who was in My Dinner with Andre) in this picture.
Spalding Grey wasn’t in TPB.
Um, no. It isn’t Spalding Grey. I’m not even sure where that comparison came from.
Grey committed suicide seven years ago.
Perhaps you are thinking of Peter Cook, the hilarious Brit who played the Impressive Clergyman — “And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… “
I remember reading that Shawn had died. Longer ago than a year or two, though. I KNOW I read it. I bet it is those tabloid covers I read in line at the grocery store. It happens all the time to me. I even tell other people and then several years will go by and they really do die. I do remember being very sad when Shawn died. And he didn’t even die.
