'Immortals': Watch Zeus whip Ares into shape -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Oh. My. Gods. Zeus is angry, you guys!

In this exclusive clip from Relativity’s swords-and-shields actionfest, Immortals – directed by the ultra-visual Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) – Zeus (Luke Evans) reprimands one of his sons, Ares (Daniel Sharman), for intervening with humanity and saving Theseus (Henry Cavill). Zeus’ daughter Athena (Isabel Lucas) watches, helplessly.

According to Zeus, the gods should only intervene if absolutely necessary, and Theseus needs to take down the evil King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) on his own. Check it out:

Ouch! It's safe to say, that may burn for a while! Immortals debuts Nov. 11.

Wow. There’s nothing regal or godly about that Zeus and Athena and Ares. They look like models playing dress-up with badly conceived costumes.

    • ZazaZing

The costume’s do look kind of tacky. They remind me of the costumes for a number of 1950′s epic films, like the Ten Commandments and Cleopatra….gorgeous but not the least bit realistic.

      • se123

realistic? it’s a movie based on fantasy

  • harry

    sick!!!

  • Ryan Goslings

    Looks like a car commercial.

    • Jon

I was waiting for a Kia Soul to bust through the wall and dancing hampsters to get out!! The actors would then all start dancing and or checking out the car. Oh crap I probably just gave some producer a terrible idea for a commercial, sorry!

  • .ZazaZing

It looks kind of cheesy, but….a bunch of hot guys in tiny shorts….I’m there!

    • MSW

Hot guys in tiny shorts …. yes please!

      • Adwina Lambert

i’m shoor Ryan-a She-crest would be first in line to see this… followed by his footloose beard! tee-hee!

  • Esox

Really is there anyone out there saying MY GOD, I HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

    Didn’t think so.

    • JBD

I actually really, really want to see it. I’ve been waiting for some reviews to come out. It looks great. I don’t know why everyone is so quick to knock it.

    • AAron

MY GOD, I HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

    • Merry Bear

Actually, my 12-year-old said just that. Maybe he is the target demographic? Tacky costumes don’t seem to bother him, nor does tacky dialogue. On the other hand, it looks like there’s a little something there for the moms (hellooo Luke).

    • orbitalmind

Man’s interpretations of certain historical events intrigue me, its like a dagger thrusting into the dart, not exacting hitting its target. But I guess seeing it from a fresh perspective is a part of the educational curriculum.

    • yup, yup

I definitely want to see it

  • Bubbles

Luke Evans is all kinds of delicious.

Like “Into The Blue”, this movie is a guilty pleasure, not to be watched at the cinema but at home with the lights out, and a box of kleenex (but not for crying, if you know what i mean, and I think you do…)

    • Jowl

Not really. Guys go for the good stuff when it’s time to break out the tissues, not some kids movie.

  • LOL

    America loves crap.

    • AAron

      America hates you

  • MesoSoup

Tarsem Singh makes visually spectacular films, i for one want to see this movie, so there Esox!!!!!

    • Tattew18

I’m surprised by people’s reactions towards all the footage of this film. They obviously don’t know who tarsem singh is and what he’s capable of.

      • Astrid

Exactly! People say that the costumes look silly or tacky, but they don’t know that extravagant headgear is a trademark of the director, and the director is a visionary. He’s one of the best out there today.

And also there’s a reason why the gods look like models. The director’s reasoning was that if you were going to be immortal, would you want to spend eternity looking like an old man or looking like a young man in his prime? I think we all know the answer to that.

      • Jowl

A hackneyed Bollywood director trying to break into Hollywood? I dunno this movie has that cheesy Indian feel to it.

      • Valcris

Yup!I totally agree with you!Tarsem Singh happens to be a Producer/Director Visionary known for his spectacularly and visually stunning films. He always collaborates with the legendary Costume Designer EIKO ISHIOKA,who’s widely known for Francis Ford Coppolas’ DRACULA,and naturally Tarsems’ ‘The Cell’ and ‘The Fall’!People who appreciate artsy fantasy films will love this.I realize that his films are not really for everybody, because majority of his movies are very edgy, abstract and avant-gard!

  • resistance

its not to bad..i will still watch it when it comes out.
besides if i was a god..id have a perfect body to.. or maybe the top gods shoulda been more built if anything ..id expect models for the women :P

  • cellen10

I HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!! This is exactly how the gods look and exactly how they dress. Plus, Henry Cavill is scantily dressed in most of the movie.

  • pilzer
