Richard Gere channels Bernie Madoff in Sundance film 'Arbitrage' -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Arbitage

The definition of arbitrage? “The purchase of securities on one market for immediate resale on another market in order to profit from a price discrepancy.” In other words: buying low and selling high. At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, its definition is one of the movies I’m most excited about. Richard Gere stars as a fraudulent hedge-fund manager (sound familiar?) trying to sell his business to a bank before his duplicity is discovered. It sounds like it could be the best showcase for Gere since his one-two punch of Unfaithful and Chicago a decade ago. Here’s an exclusive clip of Gere with costar (and last year’s Sundance breakout) Brit Marling, appearing as his daughter, who’s also an employee. Directed by Nicholas Jarecki,¬†Arbitrage premieres at Sundance on Jan. 21.
