Cinematic Lin-sanity! A Jeremy Lin doc is in the works

Like America’s fervor for Pogs, Sudoku, and classic literature combined with horror movie monsters, Lin-sanity — our collective obsession over Jeremy Lin — has swiftly come and gone. In February, the nation couldn’t get enough of that Harvard-educated New York Knicks player and his pun-friendly last name. After a string of losses and an unfortunate knee injury, though, Lin’s star stopped burning quite so brightly — and our fanatical fixation faded.

But an upcoming film might bring Lin back into the collective consciousness. EW has confirmed that director Evan Jackson Leong is currently assembling footage for a documentary about Lin’s meteoric rise and humble roots. Leong is a friend of Lin and a filmmaker whose previous credits include 1040, a documentary about Christianity in east Asia. (Lin’s strong Christian faith is one of his defining traits.) There’s reportedly no title attached to the doc yet; personally, I’m hoping that A Lin-derella Story is on the table. The film will be produced by 408 Films and Endgame Entertainment.

Do you think this doc might pique your Linterest? Or has the player’s moment come and gone?
