• Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are joining forces for an untitled comedy about an F.B.I. agent (Bullock) and Boston cop (McCarthy), with Bridesmaids director Paul FeigParks and Recreation scribe Katie Dippold is penning the script. [Deadline]

• Robin Williams, Mila KunisPeter Dinklage, Melissa Leo, and James Earl Jones have signed on for The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, about a patient who is erroneously told he has 90 minutes to live. The comedy marks the first film from Field of Dreams director Phil Alden Robinson since 2002’s The Sum of All Fears. [Screen International]

• Jessica Biel, Chloe Moretz, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will star in The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea, about a widower (Morgan) who helps a girl (Moretz) construct a raft to cross the Atlantic Ocean. (Biel will play Morgan’s late wife.) Justin Timberlake will add two more hyphens to his multi-hyphenate resume, meanwhile, serving as the film’s composer and music supervisor. Bill Purple will make his feature directing debut from a script by Robbie Pickering (Natural Selection). • Speaking of Chloe Moretz, the in demand actress is also in talks for Kick-Ass 2, reprising her role as Hit Girl, who will go into retirement. But will she stay there?! (No.) [Total Film]

Colin Firth, Emily Watson, and Tom Wilkinson will star in actor Rupert Everett‘s directoral debut The Happy Prince, a biopic about Oscar Wilde. Everett will play the famed author and playwright, and also wrote the screenplay. [Variety]

• Tom Cruise is attached to star in a remake of MGM’s The Magnificent Seven. No writer or director have yet to saddle up for the project, which is in the very early stages of development. [Variety]

Abigail Breslin will take on the title role in Final Girl, which tracks a gang of savage teenage guys who pick Breslin’s character to be a part of an “initiation.” (Eat your hearts out, feminist film theorists.) Photographer Tyler Shields will make his feature directing debut with the thriller. [Deadline]

• While we’re on the subject of Little Miss Sunshine moppets taking on an unsettling dark role, Paul Dano has joined Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt, and Michael Fassbender in Twelve Years a Slave, an adaptation of the 1853 memoir by Solomon Northup (Ejiofor in the film), who was born a free black man but was duped and doped into slavery. Dano will play one of the slave owners. Director Steve McQueen (Shame) cowrote the script with John Ridley. [Deadline]

 Owen Wilson may be AWOL from Wes Anderson‘s latest film Moonrise Kingdom, but the director says Wilson will return for his next ensemble film. [Dallas Morning News]

• Rachel McAdams will team with Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the John le Carre adaptation A Most Wanted Man. Anton Corbijn (The American) will direct. [THR]

• Elizabeth Banks will go dark in writer Alan Ball‘s latest film, What’s the Matter With Margie?, about an office drone who goes on a killing spree. Daniel Minahan (True Blood) will direct. [Deadline]
