The Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has found another star. Will Arnett (Up All Night) has signed onto the film. Megan Fox created quite a stir last month when she signed onto the movie for the role of April O’Neil, the Turtles’ human friend. It has not yet been revealed who Arnett will play, though THR reports that he is not playing Casey Jones, another character from the 1980s comics that will be cast later. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set for a June 6, 2014 release date. [THR]

Things are coming together for the long-in-development Weinstein Company project Big Eyes. For the film, the Bob and Harvey Weinstein-run outfit, a perennial favorite during awards season, has scooped up some Oscar-friendly talent. Christoph Waltz, who won this year’s Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Django Unchained, and Amy Adams, nominated for The Master, will play the film’s leads, Walter and Margaret Keane. Big Eyes is based on the real-life story of the Keane couple, whose kitsch paintings of big-eyed children gained popularity in the ’50s and ’60s. Today it was also announced that Tim Burton will direct. [Deadline]

• Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) has signed on for Eliza Graves, a film loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s 1845 short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. Starring opposite Kate Beckinsale (Underworld), Sturgess will play a Harvard Medical School alum who takes a job at a mental institution where the inmates have taken over, posing as doctors. Beckinsale plays the title character, a patient with whom Sturgess’ character becomes obsessed. Set to start filming this June,  Brad Anderson (The Call) will direct. [THR]

• Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games) will star in Things People Do, about a family man who loses his job and begins a life of crime. Also joining the cast are Vinessa Shaw (3:10 to Yuma), who will play Bentley’s wife, Jason Isaccs (Harry Potter series), set to play a detective Bentley’s character befriends, and Haley Bennett (Marley & Me), a stranger he meets in his new life of crime. Things People Do has some Bourne talent behind it: The drama, which begins filming in New Mexico this week, is the directorial debut of The Bourne Identity editor Saar Klein and is produced by Doug Liman, who produced the first three films of the spy franchise and directed the first. [Deadline]

Also filling out its cast is romantic comedy Hector and the Search for Happiness. Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine) and Jean Reno (The Da Vinci Code) have joined the cast of the film directed by Peter Chelsom (Serendipity). Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) stars as Hector, ann eccentric London psychiatrist who searches the world for the definition of happiness. Among the actors already signed on are Rosamund Pike (An Education), Stellan Skarsgård (Thor), and Christopher Plummer. The feature film is adapted from the 2010 novel of the same title by Francois Lelord. [Deadline]
