'One Chance' trailer: How 'Britain's Got Talent' made Paul Potts a star -- VIDEO

From an unknown to perhaps one of the best-known opera singers around the world, the story of 2007 Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts proves it can all happen with just one shot.

On Thursday, The Weinstein Company released the first trailer for One Chance, the biopic of Potts’ rise to fame from a Carphone Warehouse store manager to blowing away the judges (and the public) on Britain’s Got Talent.

In the film, directed by The Devil Wears Prada‘s David Frenkel, James Corden (Tony winner for One Man, Two Guvnors) stars as Potts, alongside Julie Walters and Colm Meaney as his mom and dad, Alexandra Roach as his wife, and Mackensie Crook as his best pal and Carphone Warehouse colleague.

Potts was the first winner of the television talent show in 2007 after shuffling on the stage with dodgy teeth and whispering that he just wanted to “sing opera.” Simon Cowell served as a producer on the movie, with his production house Syco Entertainment, in collaboration with The Weinstein Company.
