Rebel Wilson and Channing Tatum get up close and personal in MTV Movie Awards promo -- VIDEO

That’s one way to do a car chase.

Pitch Perfect‘s breakout star Rebel Wilson has discovered that hosting the MTV Movie Awards comes with a few perks — like filming fake action movie scenes with Magic Mike himself. In this new promo for the upcoming show, Wilson makes the most of being in close quarters with Channing Tatum by, well… just watch and see. Look out, Jennifer Lawrence: By the time this show airs, America may have picked out a new saucy lady BFF.

'Django,' 'Ted,' 'Silver Linings' lead 2013 MTV Movie Award nominations

Awards season: it’s not actually over!

Two Best Picture runners-up and a raunchy comedy about a talking toy lead the MTV Movie Award nominations, which were announced live on the network tonight. Both Django Unchained and Ted scored big with seven nominations apiece; Silver Linings Playbook also did well, garnering six total nominations. Unsurprisingly, almost all of them had something to do with newly-crowned Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence — the outspoken starlet scored five nods altogether, including one for her performance in the horror film House at the End of the Street.

The awards will be handed out live on April 14 during a ceremony hosted by Rebel Wilson, a double nominee herself for Pitch Perfect. Check out the full list of nominees below — and don’t forget to vote for your favorites at

Rebel Wilson to host MTV Movie Awards

Rebel Wilson will emcee the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced Thursday in a “first look” trailer that aired during the Jersey Shore finale. Set to air on April 14, this is the Pitch Perfect star’s first time hosting, and the first time a woman has hosted since Sarah Silverman’s stint in 2007. On top of the delightful news that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are hosting the Golden Globes this year, we’re hoping the female comedian-as-host trend continues.

Click past the jump to take a look at the trailer, featuring Wilson herself.

MTV Movie Awards: We're live-blogging them!

For one night each year, the most venerated members of Hollywood’s establishment come together to share their respect and admiration for the craft of filmmaking. This is not that night. If the Oscars are the movie world’s Olympics, then the MTV Movie Awards are its WrestleMania, a star-studded free-for-all where Hollywood lets its hair down to celebrate blockbusters, fan favorites, and girl-on-girl kisses. Not to mention boy-on-boy kisses. And boy-on-boy aerial crotch dives. You get the idea.

Join us 8:45 p.m. ET as we live blog MTV’s night of movie mayhem, hosted by Russell Brand, with guests including Emma Stone, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp, and more. And be sure to check out our red carpet gallery for our take on the night’s best styles.

MTV Movie Awards: 'Project X' star Oliver Cooper campaigning for Best On-Screen Dirtbag -- VIDEO

While Academy Awards may be the foremost accolades for cinematic achievement, they are marred every year by the rabid For Your Consideration campaigns that saturate the industry. To mask the crassness of begging people to vote for you, the ads are dressed up with classy photography, and governed by strict rules of what can and cannot be said. For one thing, you cannot trash another fellow nominee: No negative campaigning allowed.

The blissfully irreverent MTV Movie Awards have no such concerns. Each year, the fan-voted honors always include an especially tongue-in-cheek category — Best Dance Sequence, Best Scared-as-S**t Performance, Best Sandwich in a Movie — and this year, one of the nominees is mounting what may be the first ever campaign to win one. Project X‘s Oliver Cooper is by far the least known of his fellow nominees for Best On-Screen Dirtbag — Horrible Bosses‘ Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell, Bridesmaids‘ Jon Hamm, and The Help‘s Bryce Dallas Howard — so he has no problem casting aspersions on his competition’s qualifications of dirt-baggery. Emma Stone to receive new 'Trailblazer Award' at MTV Movie Awards -- EXCLUSIVE

It’s gotta be the eyes. Emma Stone will receive MTV’s first Trailblazer Award at the network’s annual MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, June 3. Stone, who stars in the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man opposite Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), most recently starred in last summer’s Oscar-nominated The Help and won the Golden Popcorn for Best Comedic Performance for her work in Crazy, Stupid, Love at last year’s awards.

The new award was created to “call out actors beloved by the MTV audience who are carving out their own unique and diverse path within Hollywood,” the network said. Stone has starred in a wide range of films, from comedy to drama, and next month takes on action in Spidey.

The 2012 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand. Presenters include Adam Sandler, Emma Watson, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, Stone’s co-star Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis, and Mark Wahlberg. Rapper Wiz Khalifa and pop group .fun are also scheduled to perform.

Russell Brand to host MTV Movie Awards

Russell Brand will emcee the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, the network announced today. Though it’s the Brit’s first time hosting the Movie Awards, he hosted MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2008 and 2009. Of his new gig, Brand joked, “This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers, and you won’t have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out.”

The ceremony airs live at 9 p.m. ET on June 3.

'Hunger Games,' 'Bridesmaids' top MTV Movie Award nominees

This year’s MTV Movie Awards will be a showdown between a bevy of bridesmaids and a cast of killer kids.

“Bridesmaids” and “The Hunger Games” top nominees at MTV’s annual film honors with eight nods apiece, including bids for best cast, breakthrough performance and movie of the year. Rounding out the best-picture contenders are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” ”The Help” And “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1.”

MTV announced nominees Monday in 12 categories, including six new ones such as “best on-screen dirtbag” and “best gut-wrenching performance.” Also new this year: Nominees were selected by a panel of actors, producers, agents and industry tastemakers instead of via online vote from the public.

Fans can still choose the winners, though. Voting begins online Tuesday at 8 a.m. Eastern time.

The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards will be presented June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and broadcast live on MTV.
