Casting Net: Reese Witherspoon to live 'Happily Ever After,' plus Pierce Brosnan, more

• Disney has taken on Happily Ever After, a comedy with a fairy tale twist from Don’t Trust the B—-  creator Nahnatchka Khan. Reese Witherspoon is attached to star in the story that brings us up to date with a prince and princess 10 years after they’ve met in the usually fairy tale way and now have to do some non fairy-tale-type work on their relationship. • Only Pierce Brosnan can make a movie about I.T. consultants sounds sexy. He’ll play a book publisher who takes on an I.T. consultant in the aptly named I.T., directed by Stefano Sollima. [Deadline]

Casting Net: Mark Wahlberg back for 'Ted 2' in 2015; Plus, 'Pele' recruits Vincent D'Onofrio, more

• Mark Wahlberg and his foul-mouthed teddy bear, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, will be back in theaters in June 2015 for Ted 2. June is the same month Ted managed to break box-office records last year, grossing $540 million worldwide. MacFarlane is again writing and directing. No word yet on whether Mila Kunis will return as Lori, who marries Wahlberg’s John at the end of the first movie.

Casting Net: Christian Bale in early talks to play Moses; Plus, Vincent D'Onofrio, Greg Kinnear, more

• Christian Bale may be joining a long line of Moseses, a list that includes Sir Ben Kingsley, Mel Brooks, Burt Lancaster, and Charlton Heston. According to a report, Ridley Scott is developing the Fox Moses movie Exodus, which is currently undergoing a rewrite by Moneyball co-writer Steve Zaillian. Bale is in very early talks to star. Scott hopes to begin work on the film as soon as he wraps The Counselor with Brad Pitt. Warner Bros. also has a Moses project in the works — Steven Spielberg was attached to direct Gods And Kings but recently dropped out of the project. They’re reportedly trying to get Ang Lee to sign on as a replacement. [Deadline]

• Vincent D’Onofrio, who will always be Dawson from Adventures in Babysitting to us, is set to play Robert Downey Jr.’s brother in David Dobkin‘s The Judge. We reported earlier this week that Robert Duvall had signed on to play their father. D’Onofrio has a slew of projects in the works including the cracked-out-but-still-awesome-sounding Pawn Shop Chronicles with Norman Reedus, Elijah Wood, Paul Walker, and Ashlee Simpson. [THR]

• Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) and Josh Lawson (The Campaign) have joined the star-studded cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues. There’s no word yet on what their roles might be, but we can probably assume that Kinnear will take the anchor’s desk once more. Anyone else hope he’s going to poke fun at his past life on Talk Soup? • Underworld franchise star Kate Beckinsale is in talks to join Brad Anderson‘s (The Call) Eliza Graves, an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. [THR]

Josh Duhamel plays a firefighter who witnesses a murder in the upcoming thriller Fire With Fire, co-starring Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent D’Onofrio, and he only has words of praise for D’Onofrio, who plays a plump-faced villainous killer, in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video, below. “He’s not afraid to go to places that are horrible,” gushes Duhamel about D’Onofrio.

He’s a tall drink of water, that Josh Duhamel, and he shows off his best assets — literally — as a firefighter who witnesses a murder in the official trailer for his upcoming action thriller Fire With Fire, also starring Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

The Lionsgate movie is being released Nov. 6 direct to Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Download, On Demand and Pay-Per-View, instead of in movie theaters.

• Here’s something you don’t see every day. Director Woody Allen announced today that he’s cast comedians Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay in his latest, untitled film, which will be shot in New York and San Francisco. The stand-ups will join Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins, and Peter Sarsgaard.

• Frankly, it’s surprising it took this long for a High School Musical alum to do a movie like this. Ashley Tisdale will play the lead in the horror flick parody Scary Movie 5. Malcolm D. Lee (Soul Men) will direct. [Deadline]

• A small town pawn shop in the American South will be the nexus for the impressive ensemble cast writer-director Wayne Kramer (The Cooler, Running Scared) has assembled for his black comedy Pawn Shop Chronicles. Joining actor-producer Paul WalkerMatt Dillon, Elijah Wood, Brendan Fraser, Vincent D’Onofrio, Thomas Jane, Norman Reedus, Ashlee Simpson, Lukas Haas, Chi McBride, DJ Qualls, Michael CudlitzPell James, and Kevin Rankin. The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, and actress Mickey Sumner (The Borgias) have all joined CBGB, about the renown New York punk rock club. Galecki will play band manager Terry Ork; Hawkins will play Iggy Pop; and Sumner will play Patti Smith. They join Alan Rickman (as club owner Hilly Crystal), Malin Akerman (as Debbie Harry), and Rupert Grint (as guitarist Cheetah Chrome). Randall Miller (Bottle Shock) will direct. • Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) and Douglas Booth (The Pillars of the Earth) have been cast in director Darren Aronofsky‘s Biblical epic Noah as Noah’s sons Ham and Shem, respectively. Russell Crowe will play the famed ark builder. [Deadline]
